Hollenbeck, Tebo Crowned Athlete's of the Year

Garden City, KS-The 2016 Athletic Banquet was held Wednesday Night at the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex. The 2016 Michael J. Baughman Scholar Student Athlete Award Receipient was Buster Golfer Skyler Tebo. Tebo has completed 48 credit hours at a 4.0. Runner-up was Women's Soccer Player Katie Barr. Barr finished with 46 credit hours at a 4.0. Finishing in third place was Garden City Native Jaymie Bernbeck. Jaymie came compelteted 48 credit hours with a 3.938.

Female Athlete of the Year went to Rodeo Athlete Brandi Hollenbeck. Hollenbeck is a two-time qualifier in the College National Finals Rodeo. Hollenbeck has qualfied for the short-go 7-9 times in 2016 and she is a few points away from securing the first Regional Title in Breakaway Roping for Garden City Community College. Brandi stands out against 110 Breakaway Ropers in the Central Plains Region.

Male Athlete of the Year goes to Skyler Tebo. Tebo is also a two-time qualifier in the NJCAA National Golf Tournament. Tebo finished the 2016 season as the KJCCC Individual Champion and received 1st Team All-KJCCC. Tebo finished 3rd overall in District III and received All-Region Honors. Tebo is yet to determine where he will attend college next year.
