Busters Cougars Split Day Two

Garden City, KS-The Busters won game three 10-4 behind a six run inning in the bottom of the second. Garden City led Barton County after one 1-0 after back to back doubles by Francisco Alvarez and Ted Ramirez at the one and two hole respectively

The second inning was led by Brennan Cascio with an RBI single after Easton Palmer was walked and Brooks Benson was hit by a pitch. Francisco Alavarez would get an RBI and Mason Brown; who went 3-4, manufactured and RBI single. Cooper Bowermaster also contributed a double that knocked in two RBI's

Alvarez led off the third inning with a solo home run that made the score 9-0 at the end of three. The Cougars responded with two runs each in the fifth and sixth innnings respectively.

Garden City ended their scoring in the bottom of the sixth with a Brown single that scored Patrick Mixon.

In game two Garden City jumped out to 1-0 lead but the Cougars would respond with seven runs in the top of the second and go on to win 14-9.

Garden City is now 24-16 overall and 14-10 in the Jayhawk West. The Busters will look to avenge last weeks loss to Lamar Wednesday for the 1x9 at Lamar.

The Busters return to Jayhawk West action next Saturday at Dodge City. The Lamar game is slated for 4:00 PM and game one of the doubleheader at Dodge City on Saturday is at 1:05 PM.

There is a three way tie for first place with Dodge City, Hutchinson and Butler Community with a 0.600 winning percentage. Garden City is alone at second place at 0.583. The Busters swept Dodge City last year at Williams Stadium.
