Busters Go 3-1 in NMMI Series

Roswell, NM-Garden City put up 49 runs in four games and went 3-1 against New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) this past weekend. The Busters went 2-0 on Saturday winning 11-2 and 1-0. On Sunday bats got busy as the Busters dropped game III 20-19. The Busters responded in game IV winning 18-6.

In game III both teams combined for 44 hits and 39 runs. There were two errors per team in the seven inning bill. In game IV the Busters tallied 20 hits and NMMI garnered 14.

In game III the Busters were led by Mason Brown and Kyle Lopez. Brown went 4-6 from the dish, scored 2 runs and totaled 4 RBI's. Lopez went 4-5, scored 2 runs and totaled 3 RBI's. In game IV Lopez went 4-5, scored two runs and had 4 RBI's.

The Busters return to play on Wednesday March, 2nd when they travel to Frank Phillips. The Busters open league play Saturday against Seward County at 1:00 PM in game I of Saturday's twin bill.
