Busters Win First Two of Four Game Series with Conqs

Garden City, KS- The Busters come back from an early 3-0 deficit to defeat Dodge City 10-3 in Game I. The Busters improve their overall record to 30-9 and take over first place in the Jayhawk West Division. 

Garden City was led by Brooks Benson who was 3 for 4 from the plate with 2 RBIs and scored 1 run. Sean Kennedy also added on to the late surge by hitting a 3 run home run in his only at bat of the game.

Dodge City was led by Jake Pederson who went 2 for 4 from the dish with an RBI and a run. 

In Game II the Busters jumped out to an early 7-0 lead but Dodge City came back by scoring 6 in the top half of the 6th inning. Garden City holds on to win 9-7 and improves to 31-9.

Garden City was great offensively but the big hit came from CJ Krainock who blasted a 2 run home run in the bottom half of the 6th inning to answer back Dodge City's 6 runs. Kyle Lopez also had a home run early in the game to get the momentum rolling for the Busters.

After today's doubleheader the Busters remain in first in the Jayhawk West with a 16-6 record. Dodge City falls to 28-10 on the year and 11-7 in conference play.

Doubleheader resumes tomorrow at 1:00 PM. Game IV begins at 3:00 PM.
