Busters and Cougars Square Off Tonight

Garden City, KS-Brady Trenkle's Busters are 3-4 in league play and look to bounce back to the .500 mark against Barton County tonight in Great Bend.

The Cougars are sitting atop the DI KJCCC Polls at 5-1 and 13-6 overall. Barton County suffered its first loss of league play Saturday night at the hands of Neosho County 66-63. Garden City lost the previous week in double overtime to Neosho County 100-96; a game Garden City controlled until late in the second overtime.

Last year the Cougars defeated Garden City in both contests. This year the Cougars are averaging nearly 80 points a game and are pulling down 38 rebounds. They are shooting 46% from the field and 66% from the free throw line and 30% from the arc.

Garden City in 18 games is averaging 83ppg and 41 boards. The Busters are shooting 47% from the field and 73% from the charity line. Keith Mack leads the Cougars in scoring at 13.3 a game and Derek Dorn averages 12.8ppg. Josh Fleming leads the Busters in scoring averaging 16.3ppg and Jabar Ray averages just under 10 at 9.3ppg.
