Coach Green is excited as three of the golfers are freshman and have really represented the Busters well competing in their first 4 competitions in the United States. The golfers will continue to work hard in preparation for the spring season.
In addition there are three more freshmen in the Top 150. The Busters are Nathan Roy ranked #109 and a 77.12 stroke average. #114 Mac McNish maintains a 77.58 average. Sitting at #135 is Luke Russell with a 78.67 I am pleased to have so many in the Top 150 considering the schedule I had to challenge them going to tournaments including Ryan Palmer Invitational where the majority of the field were NAIA and NCAA DII teams. Included in the scheduled was the NJCAA National Preview where the squad finished 8th. The High Country Shootout had the best of the best in the Junior College ranks competing against each other. Finally a 8th place at the Dr. Pepper Classic on Baylor's Home Course "Twin Rivers".
"I am very pleased where we sit at the moment but no there is much more for us to accomplish. This Buster Squad is setting the foundation for the future of the golf program. Being nationally ranked for the first time in the history is a compliment to these guys' hard work and dedication." adds Coach Green.
