Broncbuster men into the win column

Broncbuster men into the win column

Garden City, KS-Entering play Saturday, the Broncbusters had dropped three matches by a total of five goals.

"We've been very close, but we have to learn how to finish," Head Coach Scott Westbrook said following a 2-1 loss to Cloud on Thursday.

After giving up an early goal, Garden City's defense shutout Laramie the rest of the way in a 3-1 victory at Broncbuster Stadium.

"It's our first win, but it was far from our best performance," Westbrook said. "We seemed very slow and mentally not ready to play."

The Golden Eagles struck first when Israel Hernandez snuck a ball past Kender Acevedo for a 1-0 at the 26 minute mark.

From there, it was all Garden City.

Joel Sanchez scored the equalizer in the final minute of the first half before Remi Emeriau and Lyle Lakey found the back of the net in the second.

"We need to be more consistent," Westbrook added. "Hopefully we play better in conference."
