Henry and Haley Qualify NJCAA National Championships

Lincoln, NE-Rodney Henry and James Haley qualified Friday afternoon for the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in March. Henry qualified in the 1000M Run clocking a 2:38.88 good enough for 6th overall. Renars Stepins of Latvia won the event with a time of 2:25.

Sophomore James Haley qualified in the long jump with a leap of 6.97M or 22'10.5". Haley finished 5th overall. On the Women's side Donesha Ruffin came up 07" of an inch short in the triple jump. Ruffin popped a 10.4 for a leap of 34'1.5". The NJCAA qualifying standard is 10.47. Doug Marshall on Ruffin. "Ruffin did not have a good weekend. She will get there though. She is a good kid and a fine athlete. We believe she will be ready Saturday.

Garden City resumes action next Friday and Saturday at the CSM Joe Davies Invitational. The meet will be held in Golden, CO. Colorado School of Mines is the host.
