Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as Broncbusters outscored Frank Phillips Community College 12-10 in seven innings.
There were 27 hits, including eight extra base hits in the game.
Broncbusters got its bats going early, scoring four runs in the first inning to pull ahead of Frank Phillips Community College.
Broncbusters would not relinquish the lead as Frank Phillips Community College was unable to weather a six-run third inning deficit.
Frank Phillips Community College scored on an RBI single by Jaelene Solano in the third inning, a sacrifice fly by Kassandra Soliz in the fourth inning, a two-run triple by Cheyenne Housh in the fifth inning, a sacrifice fly by Amanda Tokunaga in the sixth inning, and an RBI single by Miaya Watkinsand a two-run single by Tokunaga in the seventh inning. Unfortunately, Frank Phillips Community College wasn't able to take the lead back.
Shaylene Shepherd got the win for Broncbusters despite allowing six runs over 4 1/3 innings. Shepherd struck out two, walked none and gave up nine hits.
Sabina Branch took the loss for Frank Phillips Community College. She allowed 12 runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out none.
Frank Phillips Community College scored two runs in the first inning, and then followed it up with two more in the fifth. In the first, Frank Phillips Community College scored on a two-run home run by Tokunaga, plating Soliz.
Broncbusters matched its two-run sixth inning with two more in the seventh. In the sixth, Broncbusters scored on an RBI single by Motherwell, bringing home Tascha Holeman.
Nakagawa kicked things off with a single, scoring Holeman. That was followed up by Motherwell's single.
