Pratt Best Busters in Two

Broncbusters fell 12-8 to Pratt Community College in seven innings on Wednesday at Garden City, KS despite racking up 11 hits and eight runs.

 

Broncbusters was led by Leandra Lopez's hitting. Lopez went 2-4 and scored two runs. She doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

 

Even though Bailey Young allowed eight runs over 5 2/3 innings she still recorded the victory. Bailey Young struck out two, walked none and gave up 11 hits.

Kaitlyn Bean was charged with the loss. She allowed seven runs in three innings, walked none and struck out two.

Pratt Community College didn't relinquish the lead after scoring five runs in the first inning when it scored on a three-run home run by Maddie Daily, a groundout by Katie Schrag, and an RBI single by Molly Miller.

Broncbusters matched its one-run first inning with one more in the second. In the first, Broncbusters scored on an RBI double by Leisha Nakagawa, platingErin Jankiewicz.

Pratt Community College piled on three more runs in the top of the fifth. A hit into a fielder's choice scored Emma Hall for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Kendra Houston's single, bringing home Haley Turner.

Two runs in the bottom of the fifth helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 10-4. A passed ball and a sacrifice fly by Nakagawa gave Broncbusters life. Finally, Bailey Young got Hailey Motherwell to fly out to end the threat.

Pratt Community College pushed across one run in both the sixth inning and the seventh. In the sixth, Pratt Community College scored on an RBI single by Regan Boyer, scoring Schrag.

After pushing across four runs in the bottom of the sixth, Broncbusters faced just a 11-8 deficit. An RBI single by Nicole Milford, a groundout by Cheyenne Phelps, an error, and a steal of home by Tascha Holeman triggered Broncbusters' comeback. Motherwell flew out to end the Broncbusters threat.

Nine hits weren't enough for Broncbusters as it lost a shootout, 10-8 in seven innings, to Pratt Community College on Wednesday at Garden City, KS.

 

Erin Jankiewicz racked up three RBIs on one hit for Broncbusters. She tripled in the fifth inning.

 

Bailey Howarah got the win for Pratt Community College despite allowing seven runs over 6 2/3 innings. Bailey Howarah struck out two, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Pratt Community College was sparked by Kendra Houston and Taylor Elliott, who teamed up for three hits and five RBIs.

Shaylene Shepherd couldn't get it done on the rubber for Broncbusters, taking a loss. She allowed 10 runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out two.

Pratt Community College went up for good in the first, scoring one run on an error.

Pratt Community College increased its lead with seven runs in the second. A error scored Katie Schrag to start the scoring in the inning.

Five runs in the bottom of the fifth helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 10-5. An RBI single by Tascha Holeman, a three-run triple by Jankiewicz, and a sacrifice fly by Leisha Nakagawa sparked Broncbusters' rally. But, Bailey Howarah got Hailey Motherwell to ground out to end the inning.

Three runs in the bottom of the seventh helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 10-8. An error, an error, and an RBI double by Nicole Milford fueled Broncbusters' comeback. Broncbusters' Kalie Vernon to end the ballgame.
