Broncbusters falls 11-5 to Clarendon College despite Kaitlyn Bean's effort

Despite a big day at the dish from Kaitlyn Bean, who finished 3-3, Broncbusters lost 11-5 to Clarendon College at Garden City, KS on Monday.

Three of Broncbusters' runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Bean. She homered in the second inning, singled in the fifth inning, and doubled in the seventh inning.

Even though Ryata Daniel allowed five runs over seven innings she still recorded the victory. She struck out six, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.

Bean couldn't get it done in the circle for Broncbusters, taking a loss. She allowed 11 runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out four.

Clarendon College went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on two errors.

Clarendon College scored two runs in the second inning, and then followed it up with two more in the fifth. In the second, Clarendon College scored on an RBI triple by Haley Rodriguez, scoring Briana Cruz.

One run in the bottom of the second helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 4-1. A solo home run by Bean gave Broncbusters life. But, Daniel gotCheyenne Phelps to fly out to end the inning.

One run in the bottom of the third helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 5-2. An error sparked Broncbusters' rally. Tascha Holeman to end the Broncbusters threat.

One run in the bottom of the fourth helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 5-3. An error fueled Broncbusters' comeback. Daniel ended the inning by getting Leisha Nakagawa to strike out.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fifth, Broncbusters faced just a 7-4 deficit. An RBI single by Bean set off Broncbusters rally. The Broncbusters threat came to an end when Daniel finally got Nicole Milford to strike out.

Clarendon College built upon its lead with three runs in the sixth. The inning got off to a hot start when Glorianna Eddy singled, bringing home Courtney Turner and Megan McGuire. That was followed up by Katherine Betts's single, bringing home Eddy.

Broncbusters scored one run in the bottom of the seventh to cut its deficit to six. An RBI double by Bean sparked Broncbusters' rally. Finally, Daniel got Milford to to end the game.

Clarendon College falls 12-3 at the hands of Broncbusters

Broncbusters beat Clarendon College on Monday 12-3 at Garden City, KS in six innings.

Broncbusters scored three runs in the sixth on Broncbusters scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Kaitlyn Bean, a two-run single by Tascha Holeman, and a two-run single by Holeman.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

Broncbusters finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. Broncbusters scored on an RBI single by Hailey Motherwell off Katherine Betts, bringing home Cheyenne Phelps

Shaylene Shepherd was hot from the plate for Broncbusters. Shepherd went 3-4 and scored three runs. She doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

 Motherwell got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed three runs over six innings. She struck out one, walked four and surrendered five hits.

Betts ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 12 runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.

Broncbusters survived Clarendon College's surge and put up two runs of its own in the first. Broncbusters scored on a two-run single by Erin Jankiewicz.

Broncbusters brought home three runs in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the fifth, Broncbusters scored on an RBI double by Bean, scoring Motherwell.
