Broncbusters falls 18-2 toHutchinson Community Collegedespite Leandra Lopez's effort

Despite a big day at the dish from Leandra Lopez, who finished 2-2, Broncbusters lost 18-2 to Hutchinson Community College at Garden City, KS on Tuesday.

Hutchinson Community College easily handled Broncbusters pitching as six hitters combined for nine hits, 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

Hailey Motherwell took the loss for Broncbusters. She allowed 10 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked six and struck out none.

Hutchinson Community College never trailed after scoring nine runs in the first on two doubles, an error, a groundout by Hannah Danielson, and two singles.

Broncbusters scored one run in the bottom of the second to cut its deficit to eight. A fielder's choice fueled Broncbusters' comeback. Finally, Kristen Taylor got Nicole Milford to strike out to end the threat.

One run in the bottom of the fourth helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 16-2. A wild pitch set off Broncbusters rally. Milford struck out to end the Broncbusters threat.

Broncbusters fell 19-12 to Hutchinson Community College in seven innings on Tuesday at Garden City, KS despite racking up 10 hits and 12 runs.

 

Erin Jankiewicz racked up three RBIs on three hits for Broncbusters. She singled in the fourth and sixth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

 

Even though Holly Kelley allowed five runs over 3 2/3 innings she still recorded the victory. She struck out eight, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Hutchinson Community College easily handled Broncbusters pitching as six hitters combined for 18 hits, 14 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Kaitlyn Bean ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 19 runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out two.

In the bottom of the first, Broncbusters grabbed the early lead, 3-0. More runs came home for Broncbusters when Vernon scored on a groundout by Hailey Motherwell and Jankiewicz scored on a passed ball.

Broncbusters got two-run rallies in the second inning and the seventh. In the second, Broncbusters scored on an error, scoring Nicole Milford.

After posting two runs in the third, Hutchinson Community College again scored two in the sixth. In the third, Hutchinson Community College scored on an RBI single by Kelley, plating Nicole Pendleton.

Broncbusters scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fourth. In the third, Broncbusters scored on a groundout byTascha Holeman, scoring Leisha Nakagawa.

Hutchinson Community College went up for good in the fifth, scoring eight runs on three doubles and two singles.

After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the sixth, Broncbusters faced just a 15-10 deficit. A two-run double by Nakagawa and an RBI single by Holeman set off Broncbusters rally. Finally, Kelley induced an inning-ending from Cheyenne Phelps.

Two Broncbusters runs crossed the plate in the bottom half of the seventh, making the score 19-12. A two-run home run by Jankiewicz sparked Broncbusters' rally. But, Kelley got Milford to strike out to end the game.
