Broncbusters drops 8-3 game toDodge City Community Collegedespite efforts of Hailey Motherwell

Hailey Motherwell did all she could to give Broncbusters a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Dodge City Community College, as Broncbusters lost 8-3 in seven innings at Dodge City, KS on Wednesday.

It was a good day at the plate for Broncbusters' Motherwell. Motherwell went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the second inning.

Kim Herron recorded the win for Dodge City Community College. She allowed three runs over seven innings. Herron struck out two, walked one and gave up five hits.

Dodge City Community College's Candace BolligTaylor Menard and Marina Kelly combined for six hits and three RBIs.

Kaitlyn Bean was charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in six innings, walked none and struck out five.

Dodge City Community College didn't relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the first inning when it scored on a solo home run by Kelly, an RBI single by Kaylie Schoendaller, and an RBI triple by Bollig.

One run in the top of the second helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 3-1. A solo home run by Motherwell fueled Broncbusters' comeback. The Broncbusters threat came to an end when Herron finally got Skyler Doughtyto fly out.

Dodge City Community College quickly matched Broncbusters' strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the second. Dodge City Community College scored on an RBI single by Taryn Garza and a groundout by Heather Amen.

Two runs in the top of the fifth helped Broncbusters close its deficit to 6-3. A two-run single by Cheyenne Phelps gave Broncbusters life. Finally, Herron got Erin Jankiewicz to ground out to end the threat.

Dodge City Community College got one-run rallies in the fifth inning and the sixth. In the fifth, Dodge City Community College scored on a fielder's choice.

Broncbusters can't stop Dodge City Community College's seventh inning rally in 6-5 loss

Dodge City Community College took the lead in the seventh inning, and Broncbusters was unable to muster a comeback, losing 6-5 in seven innings on Wednesday at Dodge City, KS.

 

Tascha Holeman was hot from the plate for Broncbusters. Holeman went 2-3 and scored one run. She tripled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.

 

Kim Herron got the win for Dodge City Community College despite allowing five runs over seven innings. She struck out three, walked one and surrendered 10 hits.

Dodge City Community College was sparked by Candace Bollig and Kayla Fraizer, who teamed up for five hits and six RBIs.

Haleigh Johnson was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed six runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.

The bottom of the first saw Dodge City Community College take an early lead, 1-0. Dodge City Community College's threat began with a single byHeather Amen. A groundout by Taylor Menard then moved Amen from first to third. Bollig singled, plating Amen.

After posting one run in the fifth, Broncbusters again scored one in the seventh. In the fifth, Broncbusters scored, scoring Kalie Vernon.

Dodge City Community College stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the seventh, scoring five runs on a three-run home run by Bollig and two singles.
