Garden City, KS-You can add Erica Vessels name to a growing list of Broncbuster softball players that are moving onto the next level.
On Tuesday, the Garden City infielder signed a national letter of intent with West Texas A&M University.
"I just felt comfortable there," Vessels said during a press conference in the Hall of Fame Room. "I know I will fit in there."
Vessels is coming off a spectacular sophomore season, one in which she was named an all-conference honorable mention. She was sixth in the region with 11 home runs, finished 16th in the conference with 33 runs batted in and hit .303 with a .639 slugging percentage. Vessels was named the national player of the week after smashing four homers in a single game vs. Northwest Tech on March 31. For that series, she smashed five out of the park and drove in 13 runs.
Vessels plans on studying sports exercise.
