Former Buster Head Coach moves to Louisiana Tech

Garden City, KS-Former Broncbuster Head Women's Basketball Coach Alaura Sharp has accepted an assistant coaching position at Louisiana Tech University. Sharp will assist 1st year head coach Brook Stoehr.

Sharp compiled an 83-46 record in four seasons at Garden City Community College. Sharp appeared in two Region VI semifinals in her last two years. Sharp was named 2009-10 Jayhawk Conference Coach of the Year.

In 2013 Sharp led the Busters to a 29-4 record; the best in the programs history. Former Buster All-American and Region VI Player of the year Tamra "Jumper" Jones followed Sharp to Southern Mississippi University.

Sharp is a 2006 graduate from Southwest Minnesota State and earned her Master's Degree from Adams State University. She graduated from Fredonia High School and played basketball at Fort Scott Community College where she was a member of the NJCAA Academic All-American Team. She was honored as 2nd Team All-KJCCC her sophomore year.
