Great Bend, KS-After losing by a single goal last week at Garden City, Barton County returned the favor on Monday.
Hannah Knaak scored twice, and the Cougars came back from an early 1-0 deficit to beat the Broncbusters 3-2.
"We dominated the second half," Garden City Coach Charles Long said. "We just couldn't find the back of the net."
The win, moved Barton County into a third-place tie with the Broncbusters in the Region VI standings
The Broncbusters scored first just 1:40 into the game when Sierra Rivera sent a cross into the box that Kelly Ramirez punched into the net for a 1-0 advantage.
Barton County (6-5-1, 4-3) tied the match 20 minutes later when Knaak drilled one into the corner of the net from inside the box.
Garden City (6-6-1, 4-1) regained the lead in the 26th minute when Amelia Juarez connected on a 35-yard free kick through the wind to make it 2-1. But Barton County answered resoundingly with two goals in the final 17 minutes of the half. First it was Knaak scoring her second goal in the 28th minute before Kirsty Ashworth found the back of the net on a free kick in the 35th minute.
Garden City has dropped two out of their last three matches. They're at Dodge City on Saturday.
