Broncbusters close season on a high note; still miss playoffs

Garden City, KS-In the end, math got in the way of Garden City's postseason chances.

Despite Saturday's thrilling 3-2 win over Central Christian College, the Broncbusters will miss the playoffs because of tiebreakers.

Dodge City's win over Hesston on Sunday, coupled with the goal-differential tiebreaker, gave the Lady Conquistadors the final spot in the Region VI tournament.

Garden City has not qualified for the postseason since 2011.

The women though closed the season on an uptick, getting two goals from Kelly Ramirez before Sierra Rivera won the match in the 90th minute.

Garden City finishes the season at 8-8-1 overall and 4-4 in the conference.
