Broncbuster jumpers rule the day in El Dorado

El Dorado, KS-The Garden City jumpers made a big splash at the 2017 Everett Kohl Invitational.

Nya Gatluak won the triple jump with a 38-6, recording a lifetime personal best and a new program record. Ilishia Tarver also made headway, winning the long jump competition with personal best 18-1. It was a foot further than she jumped in high school.

Other placers: Kolby Ganther finished seventh in the 100 meters; Marisa Puente took fourth in the 200 meters while Madelynn Fluker was seventh in the 400 meters. Lordes Covarrubias ran a 2:35.55 in the 800 meters and finished 17th; the 4x100 relay of team of Puente, Deja Gadison, Deidre Smith and Ganther placed fourth; Jessica Carillo finished 11th in the shot put (10.49 meters), and Hannah Roemer came in eighth in the javelin (29.07 meters)
