Broncbuster volleyball inks two

Garden City, KS-Going into her third season as Broncbuster volleyball coach, Jacque Matula has been very busy this offseason.

Matula signed two to her 2017 class, inking Holcomb's Brynna McVey and Nia Roberts from Pflugerville, TX.

"I think both players will help our program out tremendously," Matula said. They both come from really good schools."

McVey is a 5'6 setter who was a two-year starter for Head Coach Jennifer Barrett. She finished her senior campaign with 118 kills and a .236 hitting percentage. McVey had 26 total aces, 19 blocks and 101 digs. She also helped lead the Longhorns to the state tournament last fall.

Roberts is a 5'4 defensive specialist, who began her high-school career at Hendrickson before moving to Manor for her junior and senior seasons. During her final year, she averaged 1.1 digs per set. She was also a cheerleader.
