Broncbuster volleyball continues to mold 2017 roster

Garden City, KS-Garden City Volleyball Coach Jacquelynne Matula continues to strengthen her 2017 recruiting class.

The third-year coach added two more high school stalwarts, bringing in Kaylee Line from Lakin and Lexi Schellhamer from Amarillo, TX.

"We see both of these ladies being able to help us right away," Matula said.

Line played volleyball and ran track at Lakin. She was a middle blocker in high school, but Matula plans on using her in a different way next season.

"We see her (Line) competing for an outside hitter spot," she said.

During her senior season, Line had 274 kills and a hitting percentage of .406 while tallying 55 blocks.

"We plan on some pretty big things from Kaylee," Matula said.

Schellhamer played her high school ball at Tascosa in the Texas Panhandle. In her final season, she recorded 55 total digs while averaging 1.4 per set.

"Lexi has great potential," Matula said. "We believe she will benefit tremendously from our program."
