Broncbusters Finish Runner-Up at Sand Creek Station

NEWTON, KS – Garden City Community College delivered a consistent three-round performance at Sand Creek Station, finishing runner-up at +35 in a competitive NJCAA field hosted by Hutchinson Community College.
The Broncbusters carded rounds of +13, +10 and +12, using depth and steady scoring to secure second place on the team leaderboard.
Garden City was led by Ilan Dufrenoy, who finished at +2 (74-69-75). Dufrenoy turned in one of the top rounds of the tournament with a second-round 69 and recorded twelve birdies across the event.
Theis Ottosen added a +9 finish (74-79-72), closing with an even-par 72 while totaling seven birdies over three rounds.
Miguel Silveira posted a +12 (74-79-75), tallying seven birdies, while Oliver Crowley finished at +14 (79-72-79) with seven birdies, including a strong second-round 72. Luke Felix rounded out the team scoring group at +25 (85-78-78), recording four birdies.
Competing as individuals, Carson French (+10, 82-73-83), Makian Maydew (+24, 80-87-73) and Jack Bines (+16, 76-80-76) each contributed solid rounds. French recorded four birdies, Maydew added nine birdies, highlighted by a closing 73, and Bines finished with five birdies.
As a team, the Broncbusters recorded 37 birdies and consistent par scoring throughout the tournament, helping them maintain position near the top of the standings from start to finish.
Garden City's performance was further highlighted by postseason recognition, as Dufrenoy earned First Team All-Conference honors, Ottosen was named Second Team All-Conference, and Crowley, Bines and Silveira each received Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition.
Next up: Garden City travels to the NJCAA Central District Championship at Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri, on Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28.
