Silveira Fires Team-Best 76 in Round Three of Nationals

NEWTON, KS – Garden City Community College completed the third round of the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship on Thursday at Sand Creek Station, remaining 14th overall at +67 entering the final round of the tournament.
Miguel Silveira paced the Broncbusters during round three, carding a 4-over-par 76 to move into a tie for 58th overall at +19 through 54 holes. Silveira recorded three birdies and eight pars during his round, highlighted by birdies on holes nine and 13 while playing even par through the opening nine holes.
Carson French followed with an 8-over-par 80 and sits tied for 34th overall at +13 entering Friday's final round. French totaled 12 pars during round three while continuing to hold the top overall position among Broncbuster golfers.
Oliver Crowley also posted an 8-over 80 and is tied for 66th overall at +20. Crowley recorded one birdie and 10 pars during round three, including a birdie on the par-3 third hole.
Ilan Dufrenoy carded a 9-over-par 81 on Thursday and is tied for 46th overall at +15. Dufrenoy totaled nine pars during the day after opening the round with birdies on holes one and nine.
Luke Felix entered the lineup for round three and shot a 10-over-par 82 in his first action of the national championship. Felix recorded 10 pars during his round after being subbed into the lineup Thursday morning.
Garden City saw multiple players put together strong stretches throughout the round, particularly on the front nine, but several costly holes late in the day prevented the Broncbusters from making a larger move up the leaderboard heading into the tournament finale.
The NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship concludes Friday with the final round at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas.
