Garden City, KS-Garden City was within minutes of their first conference win of the season. Instead, first-year Head Coach, Oscar Zelaya settled for a draw.
Belaid Belmehdi scored the game-tying goal in the 87th minute for Coffeyville preserving a 3-3 deadlock on Wednesday afternoon at Broncbuster Stadium.
The Broncbusters are now 4-2-2 overall and 0-2-2 in the Jayhawk.
The Red Ravens jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Diego Mejia in the 21st minute and Alaa Kodi in the 31st.
But Garden City answered quickly when Adrian Campbell deposited a rocket into the back of the net.
The Broncbusters trailed 2-1 at the break.
Zelaya's team grabbed the equalizer in the 74th minute when Nicolas Muniz slipped a beautiful pass into the box to Kenda Shalingi, who blasted a shot into the left-corner of the net. Moments later, Jorge Arevalo scored an unassisted goal to give the Broncbusters a 3-2 advantage with less than 13 minutes to play.
But Garden City let their guard down with just over two minutes to play. Belaid Belmehdi snuck a ball past Ilham Brenbraham from 25 yards out.
The Broncbusters outshot the Red Ravens, 21-7.
