Hays, KS – Playing at Fort Hays State University's Soccer Stadium, the Garden City Broncbusters couldn't overcome a strong Barton attack, falling 3–1 in Wednesday's matchup .
Barton opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Masaki Tsuji converted from the penalty spot. The Cougars doubled their advantage shortly after halftime, with Rafael Calmon finishing a setup from Hayate Furumoto in the 48th minute.
Garden City battled back when Jaden Grant connected with Jose Toledo, who buried the chance in the 52nd minute to cut the deficit to 2–1. The Broncbusters pressed for an equalizer, but Barton held firm. Tsuji added his second of the match in the 78th minute, sealing the 3–1 win for the Cougars.
The Broncbusters generated seven shots, including two on goal, but couldn't break through again. Goalkeeper Ilian Badji faced a heavy workload, making four saves on 15 Barton shots .
