DODGE CITY, Kan. — The Garden City Community College men's soccer team is heading to the Region VI Quarterfinals after a commanding 3–1 win over Dodge City Community College on Sunday afternoon. The victory improves the Broncbusters to 11-5-4 overall, as they continue their postseason run.
Garden City came out firing from the opening whistle. Just three minutes into the match, Jaden Grant struck first, finishing a crisp assist from Thomas Mututala to give the Busters the early edge. Eight minutes later, Mateo Prigentextended the lead to 2–0, slotting home a pass from Hugo Gomez to cap off a quick, precise counterattack.
Dodge City managed to cut the deficit in the 36th minute, but the Broncbuster defense — anchored by Tyrese Douglas, Tesnim Makes, and goalkeeper Axel Padilla — stayed composed and shut the door the rest of the way.
With time winding down, Hugo Gomez put the match on ice in the 89th minute, scoring unassisted to seal Garden City's 3–1 triumph.
The Broncbusters outshot the Conquistadors 14–8 and controlled possession for most of the contest, showcasing both discipline and attacking creativity.
