Track competes at Washburn

Topeka, KS - The Track and Field Team competed in two destinations. On Friday, January 30th a group traveled to University of Nebraska-Kearney to compete at the Charlie Foster Classic. Another group traveled to Topeka, Kansas to compete at the Washburn Open, Friday January 30th-31st.
Washburn Open January 30th-31st:
Elias Mebitil-Libert: 3000m National Qualifier and New School Record with a personal best of 8:22.47. Mile National Qualifier and personal best with a time of 4:14.40.
Daniel Aboagye: Mile National Qualifier with a time of 4:14.94.
Matteo Lagant: 3000m National Qualifier with a personal best of 8:33.57.
The Men's Distance Medley punched their ticket to the National Championships with a time of 10:07.56, placing 3rd. Team consists of: Daniel Aboagye (1200m), Andreas Laursen (400), Landen Leonard (800) and Elias Mebitil-Libert (1600).
Meryeme Mai: Breaking her own school record and bettering her national qualifying time in the 3000m with a personal best of 9:52.32, placing her 5th. Mile National Qualifying and personal best time of 4:56.71, placing her 7th.
Umahan Sahin: 3000m personal best time of 11:11.72.
Madyson Schreibvogel: 600y collegiate debut with a time of 1:38.59.
The women's Distance Medley punched their ticket to the National Championships with a time of 12:50.87. Team consists of: Reid Harvey-McKean (1200m), Madyson Schreibvogel (400), Umahan Sahin (800), and Meryeme Mai (1600m).
