Broncbusters Deliver Record Performances, Relay Title at Region VI Championships
Pittsburg, KS - The Broncbuster Track and Field team competed at the Region VI/KJCCC Indoor track & field championships February 21st-February 22nd at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, KS. Women placed 6th out of 12 teams and men also placed 6th out of 14 teams in the Region. Both men and women placed 4th in the West conference.
West conference team results: 1st Hutchinson CC, 2nd Cloud CC, 3rd Barton CC, 4th Garden CC, 5th Dodge City CC, 6th Colby CC and 7th Pratt CC.
Men: 1st Hutchinson CC, 2nd Barton CC, 3rd Cloud CC, 4th Garden City CC, 5th Colby CC, 6th Dodge City CC, 7th Pratt CC and 8th Fort Hays Tech CC.
Coach Juliette Rios received the 2026 KJCCC Women's Assistant Coach of the year award.
MEN:
Daniel Aboagye: New school record and personal best in the 1,000m run with a time of 2:26.71, placing him 2nd in the region, and winning the conference. Also placed 4th in the region in the 800m run and 3rd in the conference. He also placed 8th in the conference for the 600m.
Elias Mebitil-Libert: personal best and 3rd in the region and 2nd conference in the 1,000m, Mile conference champion and 3rd in the region. National qualifying and new school record in the 5,000m placing 2nd in the conference and 5th in the region with a time of 14:40.52.
Eyona Mangumta: National Qualifying and personal best in the weight throw with a throw of 15.92m placing him 2nd in the conference and 4th in the region. Placed 6th in the conference in the shot put.
Landen Leonard: New personal best in the 600m with a time of 1:21.68. 1000m collegiate debut with a time of 2:32.14. Placed 6th in conference and 7th in the region in the 800m.
Marius Delchard: New personal best in the Mile with a time of 4:18.37 placing 7th in the region and 4th in the conference. Also placed 5th in conference for the 3,000m
Thaddaeus Rotich: Placed 6th conference in the 3,000m and placed 3rd in conference in the 5,000m.
Matteo Lagant: Collegiate debut in the 5,000m placing 4th in the conference and 7th in the region with a time of 15:05.54. Placed 3rd in the conference in the 3,000m.
Carson Schmidt: new personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:01.84.
Anesu Makuwatsine: New personal best in the 600m with a time of 1:26.42.
Garren McAfee: personal best in the 200m and 400m with a time of 24.38 and 57.43.
Kyle Moore: personal best in the 2000m with a time of 23.44.
Isaac Orellana: new personal best in the weight throw with a throw of 12.33.
Travis Hollins: Personal best in the 60m with a time of 8.51 placing 3rd in the conference and 6th in the region. Placed 7th in the conference in the Long Jump with a new personal best jump of 6.79m.
Brayan Herrera-Ramirez: Placed 6th in conference in the Mile.
Mekhi Goitia: personal best in the 60m and 200m with a time of 7.15 and 23.29.
Jerome Anderson: new personal best in the 60mH and long jump with a time of 9.46m placing 6th in the conference, and a jump personal best of 5.69m.
Jon Woods: new personal best in the Triple Jump with a jump of 13.13m placing 6th in the conference. New personal best in the 400m with a time of 53.38.
Israel Alexander: personal best in the Long Jump with a jump of 6.41m.
Mens 4x4m Relay: Placed 6th in conference. Runners consist of: Carson Schmidt, Mekhi Goitia, Jon Woods and Jerome Anderson.
Distance Medley Relay: Placed 5th in the region and 4th in conference. Runners consist of: Andreas Laursen (1200), Landen Leonard (400), Brayan Herrera-Ramirez (800) and Daniel Aboagye (Mile).
4x800m Relay: Placed 3rd in the conference and 4th in the region. Runners consist of: Andreas Laursen, Matteo Lagant, Thaddeaus Rotich and Brayan Herrera-Ramirez.

Mereyme Mai: National qualifying in the 1,000m conference with a time of 2:59 placing 2nd in the conference and 3rd in the region. Placed 2nd in the conference and 2nd in the region in the Mile, Placed 2nd in conference and 2nd in the region in the 3,000m. Placed 2nd in the conference and 2nd in the region in the 5,000m.
Madyson Schreibvogel: National Qualifying and new school record in the 600m with a time of 1:38.68 placing 4th in the conference and 7th in the region.
Reid Harvey-McKean: personal best in the 1,000m with a time of 3:12 placing 3rd in the conference and 8th in the region. Placed 5th in the conference and 7th in the region in the Mile. Placed 6th in the conference and 7th in the region in the 3,000m.
Monifa Edwards: placed 7th in the conference and 7th in the region in the Weight Throw. New personal best in the Shot Put with a mark of 13.60m placing 4th in the conference and 4th in the region.
Halima Biggs: New personal best in the High Jump with a jump of 1.57m placing 2nd in the conference and 2ndin the region. Placed 6th. In the conference in the Long Jump.
Naya Jules: Personal best in the Pentathlon with a score of 2767. She improved her marks and times in the; 800m, Shot Put and High Jump. She placed 7th in conference and 7th in the region. Placed 3rd in the conference and 6th in the region in the Pole Vault.
Maritza Romero: Personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:43.04 placing 5th in the conference. Personal best in the Mile with a time of 6:03.08 placing 6th in the conference.
Snegugu Mkhize: Personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:43.21 placing 6th in the conference.
Umahan Sahin: Personal best in the 3,000m with a time of 10:50.96 placing 7th in the conference and 8th in the region. Personal best in the 5,000m with a time of 19:51.88 placing 7th in the conference.
Jaquelyne Gonzalez: Collegiate debut in 5,000m placing 8th in the conference with a time of 20:43.
Tailee Zermeno: personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 10.75m.
Ally Stidham: personal best in the 200 and 400m with a time of 31.43 and 1:16.28.
Women's 4x4m Relay: Placed 5th in the conference. Runners consists of: Naya Jules, Madyson Schreibvogel, Ally Stidham and Halima Biggs.
Distance Medley Relay: Placed 3rd in conference and 6th in the region. Runners consists of: Reid Harvey-McKean, Madyson Schreibvogel, Snegugu Mkhize andMaritza Romero.
4x800m: Conference Champions and 2nd in the region. Runners consist of: Umahan Sahin, Naya Jules, Jaquelyne Gonzalez and Snegugu Mkhize.
The track and field team will be preparing to end the season at the NJCAA National Indoor track & field championship March 5th to March 7th at Topeka Kansas.
