CASPER, WYO. — The Garden City Community College Men's Rodeo Team concluded its 2026 season at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyo. The Broncbusters finished 25th in the final men's team standings with four competitors representing the program.
Rhett Robbins competed in the bareback riding and opened the week with an 81.5-point ride to finish fourth in the First Go-Round. He added a 76.25-point ride in the Second Go-Round and a 71-point ride in the Third Go-Round to finish 15th in the nation.
Jhett VanderHamm qualified for the Short Go in tie-down roping after posting runs of 14.1, 12.4 and 11.2 seconds through the first three rounds. He clocked a 15.1-second run in the finals and finished ninth in the average and ninth in the nation.
Nick Lovins competed in team roping as a heeler and posted times of 5.2, 6.6 and 5.9 seconds in the three go-rounds, finishing second, seventh and fifth, respectively. Lovins qualified for the Short Go but recorded a no-time in the finals. He finished eighth in the average and eighth in the nation.
Jaytyn Hash and Jhett VanderHamm also competed in team roping. The pair recorded a 10.0-second run in the Second Go-Round to finish 15th but took no-times in the First and Third Go-Rounds and did not advance to the Short Go. They finished 38th in the national standings.
Garden City's 25th-place finish came with just four competitors representing the program, while many schools fielded full six-man teams. The Broncbusters also finished ahead of several programs that qualified complete teams to the CNFR, including Southeastern Oklahoma State University, which won the Central Plains Region men's team title earlier this season.
