Garden City, KS-Finding a way to win doesn't make reigning conference coach of the year Amy Schmeckpeper's job any easier. However, it has been fulfilling, especially considering how her team started the season.
Alanna Neilsen collected four hits including a walk-off two-run single in the seventh, and Garden City beat Northeastern, 13-12 Sunday afternoon at Tangeman Sports Complex.
Alexis Garcia picked up the win in relief, yielding two runs on two hits in two innings.
Trailing in the seventh, the Broncbusters produced three straight singles. Ryanna Johnson laced a shot to left, Kayden Rodgers followed with a knock up the middle, and Neilsen smacked a ball to the gap in right-center, giving Garden City their third consecutive win.
The Broncbusters slugged out 17 hits, and Neilsen drove in four runs. Alexis Maestretti was 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Northeastern's Delaney Barrett was tagged with the loss, giving up three runs on six hits in 2.1 innings.
