Garden City, KS-For the GCCC Women they lost their first game of the season dropping to 1-1 with a 63-61 lost to Northern New Mexico. The Lady Busters trailed 39-29 at half and were down by as many as 18 after an early second half run from the Lady Eagles.
Garden City closed out on a 10-3 run to end the game, but still fell two points short despite 18 rebounds from sophomore post player DeRae Lewis. Tionnia McKee finished with 17 in the loss for GCCC. Nisa Duran poured in 21 points on 5-9 shooting from 3 while Michelle Tapia dominated underneath the basket with 17.
