The Garden City Broncbusters women's soccer team extended their perfect start to the season with a 1–0 victory over Western Texas College at Broncbuster Stadium, securing their fourth consecutive shutout.
First Half
The Broncbusters created early pressure, and the breakthrough came in the 14th minute. Smilla Akesson (#21) floated a beautiful free kick over the heads of the Western Texas defenders, setting up Wilma Nyberg (#8), who calmly finished for the opening goal.
Moments later, Western Texas pressed forward, but goalkeeper Millie D'Ath (#1) preserved the lead with two brilliant saves in the 26th minute, denying back-to-back scoring opportunities.
Second Half
Western Texas generated more chances after the break, forcing D'Ath into several additional saves. The Broncbusters responded with a flurry of their own, led by Maddison Foster (#15), who tested the keeper three times in the closing stages but couldn't add to the lead.
The single goal proved enough as Garden City's defense remained organized and disciplined, locking down another clean sheet.
