GARDEN CITY, Kan. — The Garden City Community College women's soccer team battled through a hard-fought contest Wednesday night but fell just short, dropping a 1–0 decision to Dodge City Community College at Broncbuster Stadium.
The Conquistadors scored the lone goal midway through the first half, and despite controlling much of the possession in the second period, the Broncbusters couldn't find the equalizer. Maria Galisteo led the attack with a shot on target, while Maddison Foster and Aya Charaf each created strong chances that tested the Dodge defense.
In goal, Millie D'Ath was composed and reliable once again, coming up with multiple key saves to keep the match within reach. Alessandra Tovar and Siobhan Davidson anchored a back line that stayed organized under pressure and helped limit Dodge City's opportunities.
While the result didn't favor Garden City, the team showed determination and grit, pushing forward until the final whistle in another competitive Jayhawk Conference battle.
The loss moves the Broncbusters to 9–4–2 overall and 4–4–1 in conference play.
