Broncbusters Sweep Lamar to Stay Strong at Scooter’s Coffee Invite

Garden City, KS – Garden City kept its momentum rolling on Saturday morning, powering past Lamar in straight sets (25–18, 25–19, 25–22). The victory gave the Broncbusters another statement win as they continue play in the Scooter's Coffee Invite.

The opening set showcased Garden City's efficiency on both ends. Andrea Djordjevic and Beatriz Da Cruz combined for timely swings, while Kamdyn Carr steadied the back row with a match-high 19 digs. At the net, Duru Karagoz was nearly flawless, hitting .500 with 6 kills and adding 3 blocks to help the Busters close out a 25–18 first set.

In the second frame, Garden City's service game took control. Djordjevic delivered 3 aces, while Jana Kovacevic chipped in 2 more to go along with her 8 kills on .389 hitting. Vitoria Reis anchored the defense with 19 receptions and 5 digs, as the Busters stayed in front to secure a 25–19 win.

The third set proved to be the most competitive. Lamar battled point for point, but the Broncbusters spread the offense around. Kat Miscevic added 4 kills and 2 blocks, Paris Bond tallied 4 kills, and Da Cruz chipped in another 9 kills with 13 digs. With the set tied late, Djordjevic came through with clutch swings to push Garden City across the finish line, 25–22.

The Broncbusters improve to 2–1 on the season and continue their run through the Scooter's Coffee Invite, with one more match against Eastern Wyoming still ahead on the weekend slate.
