Broncbusters Battle, Fall to Eastern Wyoming in Invite Finale

Garden City, KS – Garden City closed out the 3rd Annual Scooter's Coffee Invite on Saturday night against Eastern Wyoming. In a back-and-forth match, the Broncbusters showed fight but ultimately fell in four sets (27–25, 15–25, 19–25, 22–25).
The opening set was a thriller. Behind steady serving from Vitoria Reis and strong play at the net from Kat Miscevic, the Busters clawed their way through extended rallies. Andrea Djordjevic provided the finishing touch with key kills, helping Garden City edge out the set 27–25 to grab the early momentum.
The second set shifted quickly. Eastern Wyoming's No. 14 delivered a powerful run of service aces, sparking a 9–18 deficit for Garden City. The Busters strung together a short rally, cutting the score to 13–18, but the Lancers held firm and rolled to a 25–15 win, evening the match.
Eastern Wyoming continued its push in the third. Despite steady contributions from Beatriz Da Cruz (9 kills, 8 digs) and the defense of Kamdyn Carr (20 digs), the Busters couldn't overcome errors, dropping the set 19–25.
The fourth proved to be a test of resilience. Garden City tightened its block with Miscevic (6 solo, 7 assisted, 13 total) and Paris Bond (4 blocks), while Jana Kovacevic kept the offense alive with 4 kills and 18 digs. Djordjevic once again shouldered the scoring load, finishing with a team-high 12 kills and 3 blocks. The Busters pushed the set deep, but Eastern Wyoming closed the door 25–22 to seal the match.
Garden City finished the weekend 2–2, showing both grit and growth throughout the Scooter's Coffee Invite. With contributions from all corners of the roster, the Broncbusters gained valuable early-season experience against tough competition.
