Broncbusters Take Down Seward in Four Sets
Garden City, KS – Garden City earned a signature home victory on Wednesday night, defeating Seward County Community College 3–1 (25–18, 25–19, 23–25, 26–24). The win pushed the Broncbusters to 6–7 on the season.
The Broncbusters came out strong in the opening set, hitting .286 as a team. Jana Kovacevic set the tone with powerful swings on the outside, finishing with a team-high 11 kills on .345 hitting to go with 2 service aces. Garden City's defense limited Seward's runs, closing the frame 25–18.
In the second set, the Busters continued to press offensively. Beatriz Da Cruz was steady with 9 kills and 10 digs, while Paris Bond added efficiency on the right side with 6 kills on .300 hitting. Garden City held momentum throughout, earning a 25–19 win to go up 2–0.
Seward battled back in the third set, taking advantage of Buster errors to edge out a 25–23 decision despite solid defensive play from libero Daniella Nogueira, who collected 24 digs.
The fourth set proved to be a thriller. Behind clutch swings from Andrea Djordjevic (7 kills, 3 blocks) and a strong presence in the middle from Kat Miscevic (7 kills, 5 blocks, 11 points), the Broncbusters kept pace in a back-and-forth battle. Tied at 24–24, Garden City delivered consecutive points, sealing the match with a 26–24 victory.
